Many famous Italian actors and actresses appear in the movie like Toni Servillo, Carlo Verdone, Sabrina Ferilli, Giorgio Pasotti, Isabella Ferrari. There is also a scene with the singer Antonello Venditti.
The film opens with a quote from Céline's Journey to the End of the Night: “To travel is very useful, it makes the imagination work, the rest is just delusion and pain. Our journey is entirely imaginary, which is its strength.”
Many characters in the film moved to Rome looking for the great beauty in high life but at the end they were disappointed. There is no great beauty in high life.
The people in the movie couldn't find what they were looking for in their life, but as you can see from the following video, a great beauty is Rome itself:
